Jane Lee's solo exhibition

osage singapore: 26.09.2009 to 08.11.2009

Osage Singapore is pleased to present the first major solo exhibition of Jane Lee's work since being awarded the Singapore Art Prize for her work at the Singapore Art Show in 2007. From Lee's investigations into processes of painting and materiality through to her recent large-scale installation presented at Singapore Biennale 2008, the exhibition offers audiences a rare opportunity to follow the development of her artistic practice from 2004 to the present day.

Lee's work examines painting by pushing the limits of the materials and techniques used in painting. Through her use of unconventional materials and innovative techniques, her paintings highlight their processes to draw attention to the way the paintings have been made or constructed, and in so doing re-examine painting's significance and relevance for contemporary art practice.

I AM SO IN LOVE WITH JANE LEE'S WORKS! i need to proclaim this because the entire exhibition was breathtaking, it literally blew me away.

It was a clever display of 'less powerful'(i use this because there is a benchmark for comparison, you'll see why later on)

but nevertheless interesting works once you've entered, which leads to the next room with distinct colours,

which draws you again to a larger room that had one of her more subtle works

obstructing THE MASTERPIECE- all of them mind boggling as it entices you to question how each work was executed. They were unique.

When it came into view, my legs grew weak and i just went "OH MY GODDD...." It may sound exaggerated but i couldn't stand(literally) looking at it, i stooped down for a very long time admiring its beauty, trying to break down in my little mind what it was, how this glistening blood-red form was created...

Lye beside the masterpiece for comparison. marvelous, amazing. . .

it was just amazing to see it, and be in front of it. If i stood up i had to hold onto something. The impact was an invisible force that'll make me fall to my knees before it. The use of red and a mix of whites was just intense and appropriate.

close ups

Please catch Jane Lee's solo exhibition, her works, simply POWERFUL. you have to be there to experience the awe and admiration that i have of this amazing lad. I'm a fan in an instant.
