I was at the first public dialogue session with Ric O'Barry and ACRES, along with a 500-strong crowd, who are not in support of dolphin captivity.
Resorts World Singapore will be getting 27 dolphins captured from the whild for 'conservation and educational purposes in 2012. 2 have already died in their enclosures in Langkawi. Lets Stop IT!
Ric O'Barry said this in the public dialogue, which I attended on 4th Oct 2011 in Singapore, "a non-violent capture is an oxymoron".
I was appalled when a friend of Mr O'Barry from Earth Island Institute was not allowed to come up on stage to share more information about their conservation effort, as she was not licensed to speak on stage ( and will lead to trouble with the police) - Mr O'Barry was able to do so as he had a 'Work Permit'. She had to speak from the floor.
