printmaker vs artist
i'm not striving to be the best printmaker in lasalle or even in singapore, no that's never my intention. i took up printmaking as an extension to my drawings, and to learn precious knowledge of a skill that is not usually taught. with these skills passed onto me by my lecturers, i have a wider variety of mediums to apply to my works if need be, which will enhance the artwork that i create, and possibly save some time.
in printmaking i learn that i have to be neat, accurate, and consistent. but tonight, i'm told that i can reject these because i'm going to be a fine artist, not a printmaker. well, that is true but still, the mistakes are obvious. i'm told that i have to accept and make room for imperfections and mistakes and not to stubbornly stick to my plan.
up till now, i'm unable to finish my printing for the selection later
i foresee what the panel will say. about my inconsistency, about how i should have started working earlier, about excuses, about my incompetence, about how i'm ineffecient as an artist
