Self-Portrait, in a papercutting

We're teaching the Sec 2 students to create a self portrait of their faces using the method of papercutting. Many of them struggle with the process, so this is the result of a step by step (imperfect) instructional guide/sample for them.

Submerged series - close ups

i decided to crop them because the cropping emphasized the beautiful details ( one may not deem it pleasing at all, and on the otherhand , grotesque in some manner )

Submerged series- process , discovery

how it's done: with my humble 3-in-1 printer

i'm very intrigued by the close up scans of parts of the face. it reminded me closely of dermatologists and the Yun Nam hair ads on tv. here's a portion of my face, feel free to click to enlarge and view my enlarged pores and facial hair.
